Open a speed test app and you usually get an ad, then another ad, and finally your result surrounded by more ads. Some of these apps also collect data about your device and location while testing. At Kariha Web Agency we built our own answer: RealSpeedTest.

RealSpeedTest is an Android app that measures download, upload, ping, jitter and packet loss in seconds. It is completely ad-free and free: no account, no location permission, and your results stay on your phone.

What does RealSpeedTest measure?

• Download speed: how fast you receive data — what you feel when streaming or downloading.
• Upload speed: how fast you send photos, videos and files, and your side of a video call.
• Ping (latency): the round trip time to the server. For gaming and video calls it matters even more than speed.
• Jitter: how much ping fluctuates. High jitter means frozen video and choppy audio.
• Packet loss: the share of requests lost on the way — a sign of how stable your connection is.

Realistic results: parallel streams, warm-up excluded

A single connection can’t fill a fast fiber line, which is why many simple speed tests read low. RealSpeedTest connects to Cloudflare’s global speed test network with parallel streams and leaves the first warm-up moments out of the result, so you see the real, sustained speed of your line. An animated gauge and a live graph show every phase as it happens.

Speed card: share your result, challenge your friends

When a test ends, your result becomes a stylish speed card with download, upload, ping, jitter and connection quality in one image. Share it to WhatsApp, Instagram, Telegram or any app with one tap — and keep it as proof when you talk to your internet provider.

History and trends

Every test is saved on your device. See your average download, upload and ping, your best result and a download trend chart on one screen. Tap a result for the full details: date, network type, internet provider and the test server you were connected to.

Privacy first: no ads, no tracking

RealSpeedTest has no advertising SDK, no analytics and no tracking. It only uses internet access and network state permissions — no location, contacts or camera. Your results stay on your phone and go nowhere unless you share them. See our privacy policy for details.

5 tips for an accurate speed test

1. Test more than once. A single run can catch a momentary dip; check the average in your history.
2. Test close to the router. Walls and distance weaken Wi-Fi. To see your line’s speed, test next to the router.
3. Pause background downloads. Updates, backups and streaming lower the result.
4. Try different times of day. Networks are busier in the evening; speed and ping can change.
5. Mind your mobile data. A test typically uses 20–300 MB depending on your speed. On mobile, choose the “Quick” duration.
